Bumps in the Road
You all know that I have had a rough couple of weeks in the weight loss department. Due to these bumps in my road, I sort of lost sight of what the heck I was doing this for. I forgot all the good that has been coming my way as a result of my hard work for the past few months. I forgot about dropping from a size 18 to a 12 being baggy on me. Yes. I am pathetic. Well, I was pathetic.
I have given myself a once over...for the third or fourth time. I forget how many “re-evaluations” I actually have done. I think that everyone needs it from time to time. Regardless, I think I found the root of my troubles though. I hate exercise. I really hate it. It is always like a chore to me. Gotta put on the right shoes. Gotta get out the things you need..and lets not even discuss the time management thing. So, aside from my very paid for TKD classes that all my friends attend, I can easily push things off. I always swear it’s to get other things done. You know, mom duties, laundry, work...whatever. I just slack.
I was doing the couch 2 5k thing. I seriously was doing it. But then...it bored me to tears. I mean hellooo, how boring is a treadmill walk for 30 minutes. Still, I was doing it. But when life got crazy, guess what I kicked out first. Nope, wasn’t my sun time. I know. I REALLY suck.
In any case, I am now refueled. I am dedicating myself to 3 workouts per week at home. Possibly more but definitely nothing less. If I feel up to doing more, I will but I swear that I won’t do any less. No matter what. I really feel that I need to just get the habit happening. Get back on track with my whole “move my bod” thing. I am going to do whatever exercise I feel like doing when the day rolls around. I am also thinking that those daily work outs posted right here on this site look like a great place for me to start. Even if I wind up doing it at 11 pm at night. I just need to do it. Dedicate and accomplish. 28 days to make a habit. So by the end of the first week in May, I will be a work out diva once again. Any of you couch potatoes want to take the 3 day pledge with me? Drop a comment and let us know that you are in. We will wave our pompoms proudly for you.
PS If you haven’t already done so, go vote for us for the BCA’s. Cute little button in the side bar. We made it to the front page as of Monday evening. I know with everyone’s help, we can hit the top 3. Thanks.

We’re Having a Party
I love parties. A Bunch. Today, it feels like a big one in here. You see, Erin and I have been working our asses off to make a huge overhaul to this place. You didn’t notice? Pssshhttt.
It has been a work in progress for quite some time. The past week, we knew we were getting close to launch and it was all we could do to keep from pissing ourselves silly. Since things are SO different, we decided that we should skip a weight loss/health post, just for today and give our readers a guided tour. Step onto the tram. Keep your arms and legs inside the windows please and for god sake, pay attention. There is a lot to see.
Lets start with the lovely header. Made by Chica just for us. I found the artwork and knew it was perfect for our new direction. We are like two gals at a pretty beach...skantily clad....drinking yummy drinks until we puke. FUN. That is us. So, thanks Chica. You totally rocked our socks with that header. We PPH you for it.
Next, the navigation bar. We have some new stuff up there. One of our biggest changes here was the fact that we went from being “just a blog” as of Sunday to being a full fledged and fully active web site as of Monday. We are still going to be posting our brilliant blog posts each and every day, never fear dear readers - BUT....*dramatic pause* ...we have also added in a forum. Yes. We know. It’s a chatty gals playground. If you have already registered on the site, you don’t need to do a thing. Just log in with your user name and password and you can enjoy the full extent of the site. If you haven’t registered yet, we ask you to do so in order to reap all the rewards of our wickedness. The forum is home to our interactive side of things. We will be keeping recipes there as well as hosting some online games and keeping you all informed of any news and contests we host. Head on over and check things out. Once you register, you are free to post away.
We have added a CafePress store to our line up. We have some fabulous items over there that will turn any of you into a true work out diva. We will be adding products all the time, so pay attention to our site announcements and newsletters.
Oh um...yeah. Newsletters. We are going to have them now too. We will do our best to send them out on Monday mornings to everyone who is registered to receive them. Did you catch that? You need to sign up for them so we aren’t spamming you with our babbling. Box over in the right hand side bar. Put in your email addy and click submit.
Lets see...we have a daily work out posted now. Front and almost center. This workout has been designed to get all of you up and moving. It is basic and quick. Less than an hour to do. It changes each day. Erin and I are committed to doing it each day and we want our readers to make that pledge too.
Below the daily work out, we have some nifty motivational quotes. They are meant to ....motivate you.
We also have added in a feature that we are really excited about. Our very own Biggest Loser section. We can’t call it that of course because Jillian can totally kick our asses but...we are planning to recognize the reader who has the biggest milestone each week. It isn’t completely about the numbers folks. Sometimes, a milestone can just be the fact that you are coming off a bad time of being sick and we think your attitude through it all rocked. For those of you who have blogs, we will be stealing a screen shot of your blog if we select you and linking it all up in our sidebar. Yep, not only do ya get our Kudos...you get a piece of prime real estate for an entire week. Woot for the readers.
Some added features that you might like but I am not going to ramble about:
- We can now private message through our forum. You must register to be able to do this.
- Signatures and avatars. ‘Nuff said.
- We now have our very own amazon store that is packed full of goodies that we think you all will love on your journey to health and fitness. If you need anything, please check it out before you shop elsewhere.
- We now have a formal ad program. If you have a business and you are interested in some ad space here. Holler.
Erin and I are completely excited about the changes around here. We have a whole new look, a whole new layout and a whole new attitude. We hope that you all will join us in the celebrating. We are looking forward to hearing your thoughts about what we have going on and by all means, if you have any questions, please holler. We are doing all that we can to make this transition as seamless as possible for all of our users. If ya like what we got, show us some love and head on over to the Bloggers Choice Awards and vote for us. We might actually deserve that “Best Health Blog” award now. It only takes a minute to vote and we would greatly appreciate it.
PS - does anyone know how many calories you burn while typing? My fingers are ready to fall off and I am certain that Erin is in the same boat today. It would be worth it if we knew that all of this actually helped rid us of a butt cheek or something.
Ciao.

It’s Friday!!
It’s Weigh-In day of course. I’m down another 1.6 pounds, so I’m definitely on the right track now! It feels good after gaining, gaining, gaining for like 3 or 4 weeks in a row. Not that I’m anyhwere near where I want to be of course, lol, but I’m moving down…
How did you all do this week? For me, my struggle was with the left over Easter candy that still hangs around. It’s pretty sad - my son hasn’t asked for candy in like a week but yet it is still sitting in a bag on my washing machine. I was afraid to throw it out because I might want some. Craziness huh! I haven’t eaten too much of it - but enough that it slowed down what could have been a good weight loss week for me. Today though, I’m throwing it out - all of it!! And I won’t even have one more jelly bean (okay, lies, all lies.. I’m sure I’ll grab a couple as I chuck the rest in the garbage
)
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Just one little tip before I leave you - I don’t know, I just thought it was kind of motivational and yet kind of matter of fact all at the same time:
Surround yourself with people and things that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Edit from Shelah:
Since only 3 of us have posted a weigh in, I decided to leave this post up for the weekend. Hopefully more will be by to post their numbers while I work diligently on the new OWW site.
Have a great weekend all.
