Friday = Starting Over

As Queenie mentioned yesterday, it sure seems like everyone here is a little down about their weight loss or lack thereof.  Maybe its the time of the year, or perhaps we have all been trying so long that we have simply come to the point where we need to reassess our goals - which on the whole isn’t a bad thing to do whether or not you are lacking motivation.  So, let’s use this day to not only weigh-in but to sit down and right our individual goals - both short term and long term.  When you take the time to write them down you see how completely doable they really are.  For me, I keep giving myself a whole number - 82 whopping pounds I need to lose.  Well, when put into that broad of a term I’m completely deflated before I even get my ass up and do anything about it.  That seems completely unreasonable to me!  So today I’m changing my mindset and my goals:

Goal 1 - Lose 10 pounds by June 15th (10 pounds in one month may not be doable for everyone but because I am so overweight it is very doable for me)
Goal 2 - Lose 25 pounds by August 1st
Goal 3 - Lose 50 pounds by Thanksgiving
Goal 4 - Lose 82 pounds by April 1st

Sure, it still sounds like a lot, but for right now I am only looking at that one number - goal number 1.  I can do that!  So, take the time to weigh-in, reassess where you are in your own weight loss journey right now and then write out your goals.  Be specific and say things like work out 4 times a week, or do strength training 3 times a week - whatever you feel you need to do to stick to them.  I just listed my weight loss goals here, I personally wrote down over 18 other goals but I didn’t want to bore you with them all smile

Hope you all find this to be the motivation you need to get yourselves back on track!

Weigh Ins on this topic

Well, today, when I weighed in, my scale actually moved. So, on this glorious start over day I am 169.4. I think that is the lowest that I have been in a while. My goals are below:

Goal 1 - Drop 2.4 pounds by Memorial day. More particularly, my party. I have 9 days. That puts me at my 12 year low and will make me pretty damn happy.
Goal 2 - Hit 165 by June 4. I have a hot date that night and Queenie wants a new dress.
Goal 3 - 160 by my anniversary on July 3rd.
Final Goal - This is the biggie. 150 by October 1.

October 1 is my official anniversary date. Which would put my total weight loss for a year at 57 pounds. I gave myself a longer period for this final 10 pounds mainly due to the fact that I know its going to be hard. Taking my 37 year old bod down to 150 is going to make me cry, fight and push myself harder than I have been pushed in a very long time. I can do this though. I am going to print signs for my fridge and also post this in my day planner. In my face..all the time...keeps me on track. Good luck everyone.

Goal 3 - 10 more pounds by September 1st
Goal 4 - Goal weight( 150-)155 by Oct 27th my 35th birthday.

So I just weighed myself and I am at 124.5. That’s 5 ounces. YAY!!!
I have two goals. The first is to lose 10lbs. I am thinking in increments of 2 would be manageable. So my first goal is to lose 3lbs by July 4th. We will see how that goes.
The second goal is to finish the marathon I signed up for in 5 hours. The last time I ran one I was at my heaviest and still managed to do it in 6hours and 33 minutes. I was considered a fat/fit person. That’s how my wonderful husband put it, lol. So to do it in 5hours will be a stretch but I’m going to try my hardest!!

it never fails. i always tend to do the opposite of what others may be rejoicing or struggling with. i’ve been working out 3 weeks strong and am down about 2 lbs!!! not a lot but i’ve gone down 2 clothes sizes!!!! how about that????!!! raspberry

my diet is soooo much happier than before. i eat whatever in moderation and balance. like yesterday i had a taco salad with real ground beef and the el torito ceaser dressing!! mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm soo delish!! AND i had a (those small 8oz cans) diet pepsi with it too! not only that but i had ‘nilla wafers with vit. D milk!

my goal is to keep working out at least 3 days a week doing a strong, productive 30/35mins cardio and abs. i’m aiming low because i usually do more! yay!! my photography has gotten a whole lot more beautiful because i’ve gained strength in my arms/hands--something i lost from the surgeries i’ve had. yay!

i hert wikud wyz!!

I did weigh in, but didn’t get a chance to post before. I am up 0.7 lb, which I was expecting. But, I had already put some thought into what I need to do differently.

1. Be more consistent about workouts. I already do work out 5 - 6 days a week, but I am not always good at sticking to a routine. I have a tendency to just do whatever I feel like doing. But I am going to commit to at least 3 strength training & 3 cardio workouts per week - if I get in pilates & yoga as extras, that’s great, but I want to make sure I’m getting in the strength training (the one thing that I often let slide). I already started on this and met my goal for the first week. Week two is underway. This is less cardio than I was doing before, but I guess it is somewhat of an experiment - the cardio wasn’t doing it for me, so we’ll see whether the weight training does (I’ve seen lots of opposing views on this, curious to see whether it will make a difference).

2. Revamp supper time. I do fairly well during the day, but I think maybe suppers need some work. I find it a bit harder because I have to come up with meals to make both myself & my husband happy, and I just don’t have the time/energy to be making 2 separate meals. So, I have to come up with weight-loss friendly meals that will satisfy both of us.

That’s my plan. I have an initial goal to try and lose 8 lb by June 20. Then I’ll worry about the next 10 lb.
