The Unexplainable

There are going to be times on your weight loss journey that you simply look at the scale and go “HUH??”

Today was one of those days for me.  Now seriously, I weighed myself on Wednesday to make sure I was on the right track and I was down almost 2 pounds from last week.  I have stayed within the point range for the week, and even managed to save most of my weekly points for Wednesday night when I was going to go out with my girlfriend.  I knew we were going to be drinking so I wanted to make sure I had enough so that I could have a good time.  So in total, for dinner and drinks I had about 48 points left to spend.  I spent 49.  Not bad I don’t think… one point over (I KNEW I shouldn’t have had that chocolate martini!).

Thursday I woke up and as expected I weighed much more than I did Wednesday. I felt bloated and horrible and really I didn’t even want to see the number but I looked anyhow and saw that since Wednesday morning to Thursday morning I gained a whopping 10 pounds.  That actually is very normal for me to gain and lose up to about 8 pounds in a day because of the way my body retains water.  I wasn’t too concerned thinking that after I walked and spent a day eating regular again I would lose much of that “weight”.  Not so much. 

I weighed in this morning at exactly 7 pounds heavier than what I was last week.  WHAT??  Those 7 pounds can’t stay on forever can they? I couldn’t have seriously gained 7 pounds in one night from points that I had saved up.  I just couldn’t.  Hence the title - The Unexplainable. 

So, what kind of weight is this?  Is it real weight? Phantom weight? Water weight? Or just plain “beer weight”? 

Well I don’t know, but I’m telling you this - I’m reweighing myself on Monday to see what the hell happened!!!!

Weigh-In Friday!

Happy Friday Everyone!  Well, if I may, I would just like to toot my own horn here for a second.  Normally I don’t run around telling everyone what I did this week - but allow me this one time smile I put myself on my own personal challenge of not eating out.  Instead I ate exactly by my points on Weight Watchers, logging every point.  I stayed within my range, and I walked 4 times on my handy dandy treadmill.  And as expected - I lost weight!  3.8 pounds to be exact smile See what happens when I’m serious about my weight loss?  (Very excited person here!!) It really gives me the motivation to continue on my serious recommitment!  Although I am taking myself out to eat tonight - but I will be making healthy choices!!

Ok, enough about me.  How did you all do this week?  Who are our big losers for the week?? 

I got together all of our “What We Eat Pictures” and I have to say, they are quite interesting!!  I didn’t want to fill up the whole page so I made a little slide instead.  The one person that I forgot?  ME!  Can you imagine!  If it wasn’t so late in the morning I would do one myself, I feel like such a dunderhead.  I was so intent on getting everyone elses that I forgot my own!  But I’ll add them as I take some pictures today.

Weigh-In Friday!

As if you didn’t know, today is Friday here at Our Wicked Weighs and that means it is time to weigh in!!  So, get out those scales at some point this today or this weekend and let us know how you are doing!  We love to hear your success stories - and if you don’t have a loss, that’s okay too!  There is always next week wink That gives us enough time to whip you into shape! 

I personally want to thank you all for all of your GREAT suggestions on our site and how you may want it improved! Keep them coming if you have more smile We’d love to hear from you if there is something you want to see more of, less of, or an idea that you have that would spur you on to weight loss. 

As for me, I’ve done two days of my couch to 5K run (I’m on the 7 month plan so I only have to work out three times this week), and on Monday I’ll be starting my Yoga for weight loss DVD on the days that I’m not walking.  I also just purchased with my remaining Amazon gift certificates, the new Jillian Michaels DVD.  It is a mix of cardio and strength training So, expect some reviews on how that is going - or some whining in case my entire body tries to revolt!  I feel like I’m starting my weight loss all over from the time I took off, but I’m looking forward to it.  It’s sure hard to get back on the horse so to speak, but I’m feeling like I can do this… or I’m seriously going to die trying this time.  I’m not giving up this time because my body is failing me… or should I say, I’m failing my body.  I am only 34 years old and I’m sick of being overweight, but more so, I’m sick of being unhealthy. 

Anyhow, sorry for the weight loss ramble smile I’m just sick and tired of being sick and tired!
