TGIF!
Even though I don’t work outside the home, I often look forward to Friday. It’s something that never changes no matter whether you work from home or not. It used to be that I would look forward to Friday because it meant no more work, but now that I work the weekends so often it doesn’t count much towards that
But at least now I have another reason to look forward to Friday. It’s weigh-in day!
Today I got on the scale and I’m down another 2.2 pounds! I have been walking everyday and really watching what I am eating… at least since my breakthrough
So, I expect a big loss next week, but for now I’m thrilled with my 2.2 pounds. Now that I’ve given up my Weight Watchers subscription I actually have to manually write it down - BY HAND! OMG - handwriting?? What the heck is that? Does anyone know if SparkPeople allows you to plug in your weight or if they keep track of it? If not SP, are there any other free programs that you all use to track your weight? Not that I expect the nifty graph like Weight Watchers, but I would like a place that says how much I’ve lose (or gained) when I enter my weight. It’s something small, but it was the main reason I was holding on to Weight Watchers as long as I did. That and I would do my points like twice a week, lol. But still, I loved that they would say hey, you lost, congratulations! LOL - it’s the little things that amuse me.
Well, I hope you have a wonderful weekend and get lots and lots of exercise!

Getting Ready For Easter and Weigh-In Day
Sunday is Easter and for most of us that means one thing - CANDY! As we all know, candy is bad bad bad bad especially for those of us (namely me!) who are totally addicted to anything that even sounds like jelly bean. I’m not a chocolate girl at all, but OMG, give me a bag of jelly beans and I will demolish them in minutes.
If you are looking at the basket you may think that all those chocolate Easter bunnies, jelly beans, and marshmallow chicks look cute and harmless, but watch out. The calories in these Easter “goodies” add up quick. For example:
1 chocolate covered marshmallow egg: 100 calories
25 small jellybeans: 140 calories
1 small chocolate bunny (1 ounce): 140 calories
5 Peeps: 160 calories
8 malted milk eggs: 170 calories
1 Cadbury creme egg: 170 calories
1 Cadbury caramel egg: 190 calories
1 large chocolate bunny (7 ounces) 1050 calories!!!!!!
This year, why not spare yourself the temptation to sneak into the kid’s baskets for a treat by filling them with one special candy and some non-calorie Easter goodies like stickers, crayons, markers, coloring books, a ball, sidewalk chalk, a jump rope, or a Frisbee, instead? At least then they can get some exercise and you won’t be tempted to eat all the candy!!
Don’t forget - today is weigh-in day! Let’s find out how you did!!
Happy Easter to everyone who celebrates it. And now that lent is over it DOES not mean you can go back on everything you gave up - especially if it was junk food

The Unexplainable
There are going to be times on your weight loss journey that you simply look at the scale and go “HUH??”
Today was one of those days for me. Now seriously, I weighed myself on Wednesday to make sure I was on the right track and I was down almost 2 pounds from last week. I have stayed within the point range for the week, and even managed to save most of my weekly points for Wednesday night when I was going to go out with my girlfriend. I knew we were going to be drinking so I wanted to make sure I had enough so that I could have a good time. So in total, for dinner and drinks I had about 48 points left to spend. I spent 49. Not bad I don’t think… one point over (I KNEW I shouldn’t have had that chocolate martini!).
Thursday I woke up and as expected I weighed much more than I did Wednesday. I felt bloated and horrible and really I didn’t even want to see the number but I looked anyhow and saw that since Wednesday morning to Thursday morning I gained a whopping 10 pounds. That actually is very normal for me to gain and lose up to about 8 pounds in a day because of the way my body retains water. I wasn’t too concerned thinking that after I walked and spent a day eating regular again I would lose much of that “weight”. Not so much.
I weighed in this morning at exactly 7 pounds heavier than what I was last week. WHAT?? Those 7 pounds can’t stay on forever can they? I couldn’t have seriously gained 7 pounds in one night from points that I had saved up. I just couldn’t. Hence the title - The Unexplainable.
So, what kind of weight is this? Is it real weight? Phantom weight? Water weight? Or just plain “beer weight”?
Well I don’t know, but I’m telling you this - I’m reweighing myself on Monday to see what the hell happened!!!!
So, what about you all this week? How have you been doing? It is Friday and all! So, let’s see those weight losses!!!!!
