Yep… Still Friday
I woke up this morning praying it wasn’t Friday. Before I figured out that it really was I was already thinking - Oh please don’t make me weigh-in - PLEASE! But alas, it is still Friday and I weighed in. It wasn’t AS bad as I thought but I did indeed put on 1.8 pounds this week. Man did I screw up! Barely any exercise, a big juicy cheeseburger, side of fries, and a salad loaded with blue cheese dressing! (Shhh… don’t tell anyone, but I ordered EXTRA blue cheese!) Of course I put it on the side so I didn’t actually use all of it, but enough to make me very very happy - and very very regretful.
I screwed up and good - don’t get me wrong, it was delicious! But I didn’t need the blue cheese, the burger, and the fries all at once. Which brings me to a problem that a lot of us have. We screw up and we screw up big all at once. If I had just eaten the salad with blue cheese it wouldn’t have been so bad, especially if I had mixed it with grilled chicken or something. Or I could have chosen the burger with a big heaping side of veggies. Or perhaps I could have gone with the fries on the side of healthy piece of fish or something. But no… I had to have it all together in one sitting, in one meal. It was bad, bad, bad, but tasted sooooooo good. But isn’t that why we are heavy to begin with? We like the food that is bad for us - which isn’t necessarily horrible, but we have to limit how much we have all at one time! So, next time I am going to choose one or the other - but not all three at the same time!
I hope your week was better than mine - I want to see BIG losses on the scales! Tell us ladies - how did you do this week?

Couch to 5k AGAIN
Everywhere I turn, I am seeing things about the couch to 5k. People are all over this. Including me. I don’t know what it is either. I hate running. I hated running for PE in school when they made us do it yet here I am. Planning to run a half marathon. It’s like I have been taken over by martians or something.
I also notice that many of our readers are using this program as part of their workout. I hope you all are taking advantage of the daily workouts that we have posted here. I have been doing them every single day for a week now. It’s not quite as good as Jillian but it’s a nice add to what I am already doing. In any case...back on track...Couch to 5K.
I started with the 7 month program. I didn’t think I could handle the more aggressive 4 month program. Didn’t THINK that I could handle it because I had asthma when I was little. I still feel like a whimp when it comes to doing anything remotely exerting. Apparently my bod has other plans though. I was bored stiff with the walking part of the 7 month program. So I rewrote it myself. I also tossed around the idea of creating podcasts for it so I could stop watching my watch like a hawk to know when to run and when to walk. Then...I foundGypsie sent me the link to this site.
This site hosts the entire couch to 5k program on podcasts. You can download them to your ipod , your mp3 player, or just put them on your computer and hit the play button and be off. They are organized on the site by week. The music on the podcasts gets you going at the right pace and the guy that put them together gives you voice prompts when its time to run and when its time to stop. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. My life changed. My workout changed. My attitude changed. I actually love to do the running now. AND I am not bored stiff. I do not whimp out. I do not have to stare at my watch the whole time. I simply put on my IPod and get on the treadmill.
Since I started using his podcasts a week ago, I have cut my mile down by 3 minutes. I don’t really feel any different during my workout either. I realize that I just wasn’t pushing myself at an appropriate pace. Now, I don’t have to think about it. I also realized that the workout on his podcast is the 4 month program. I am at the end of week 1 right now. I think I may try week 2 and see how I do. If I am gasping and sputtering, I will simply stick with week 1 for another week.
If any of you are using the couch to 5k, or thinking about starting the program, I would highly recommend using the podcasts. It makes it so much easier. I know that I am loving it.

The Biggest Loser Finale
So, if you haven’t watched the show and don’t know who won then you best skip this post
If you already know then you must be so happy!! Starting at a weight of 234 pounds, Ali lost a stunning 112 pounds to take the title of the Biggest Loser. The first female contestant to ever win the Biggest Loser! It was a thrill for everyone - and you could totally tell she knew it that she had won… She gets on the scale and Allison Sweeney said she had to lose 105 pounds - and she kept repeating it like she couldn’t believe that she was going to win… it was a very nice moment for her.
For us, it really shows us that just because we can’t lose weight as fast as men, we can lose more
I think I might have told you - I can totally relate to Ali because I’m the size weight as she was when she first started and the same height. But I don’t think we’re the same bone structure - I mean I do have size 10 shoes and very wide shoulders and wrists. I even have a size 10 ring finger - which was a size 8 when I was thin. So, I’m not sure that I can get to 122, but there’s always hope
I did learn something new - they have a Biggest Loser Meal Plan which is something like Jenny Craig where all the meals are sent to you. I’m not sure what it costs or anything because the website is too busy to accept viewers! I guess people really want to be the next Biggest Loser! But when you get a chance if you want to check it out you can go to Biggest Loser Meal Plan or you can click on the button to learn about the Biggest Loser Club fitness plan:
Anyhow, a big congratulations goes out to Ali on being the first woman biggest loser!! And let’s not forget about little Bernie!! He beat out both Dan and Mark to take home the $100,000 as the biggest winner out of the people who got kicked off. He looks amazing as do all of them!
Now - go get some inspiration and get some exercise!
